Obituary of Jean Katharine Horner

Please share a memory of Jean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, Jean K. Horner passed away at age 87. Jean was born on October 9, 1934, in Bridgeton, NJ, to the late Chester and Katharine Breedon Garton. On March 13, 1954, she married Millard Horner. They raised four children—one daughter, Sharon, and three sons, Guy, Brian, and Timothy. Jean and Millard were travel enthusiasts—camping all across the country. When they were not traveling, they prioritized family and enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren. If there was an event for them to attend, they were there. Jean was a member of the Princeton Elks Lodge 2129 and Ladies' Auxiliary, where she loved to meet new people and serve her community. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Guy. She is survived by her children, Sharon, Brian, and Timothy; her brother Phillip; nine grandchildren, Ryan, Kelsey, Matthew, Christopher, Jordan, Nicholas, Katherine, Cody, and Kelly; and four great-grandchildren, Ian, Timothy, Dylan, and Adalyne. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 30th at 11:00 AM at the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township. Friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Friendship-Finley Methodist Cemetery, 252 Centerton Road, Upper Deerfield Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Blue Ridge Hospice. Donations can be made online at https://brhospice.org/donate/ or by mail to 333 W. Cork St, #405, Winchester, VA 22601.
