Born in Bridgeton on March 13, 1934 to the late Everett Simpkins and Elizabeth Watcho Simpkins, she was the wife of the late Joseph R. Hamidy. She had been a lifelong resident of the Bridgeton area. She had been employed as a bookkeeper for Morton's Jewelry Store in Bridgeton for over 30 years. She was a former member of the First Methodist Church in Bridgeton. She was currently a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Bridgeton. She enjoyed spending time at the shore, visiting with family, and arts and crafts. She is survived by; a son, Victor R. Hamidy (Mary Ann) of Bridgeton; two daughters, Jill Hamidy of Bridgeton and Jan Peterson (Joseph, Jr.) of Bridgeton; five grandchildren, Victor Hamidy, Jr., Matthew J. Hamidy, Joseph Peterson, III, Kayla Peterson, Dominic Fichera; a brother, Donald Simpkins of West Virginia and a great-grandchild. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by; a daughter, Julie Hamidy and a brother, John Simpkins. Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUENRAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Thursday, January 17th at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services at the funeral home.
