Obituary of Barbara M. Johnson

On the morning of June 28, 2022, Barbara Ann Johnson (nee Mills) transitioned from life to be with the Lord at the age of 75. Barbara was born to the late William Moses and Pearlie Mae Turner-Mills on February 7, 1947. Barbara was a lifelong resident of Bridgeton, where she attended the Bridgeton Public Schools. She graduated in 1965. Barbara always loved caring for people and became a certified nurse’s aide. Barbara worked in the healthcare field for more than 30 years at various nursing homes throughout the years. Barbara retired in 2009 from Emily Bissell State Hospital in Delaware. Barbara enjoyed her retirement. She enjoyed cooking and would feed anyone. Everyone loved her sour cream cakes. She especially enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her three children Daniel of Millville, Pearl (Adrian) of Millville, Gladys (Kernel) of Bridgeton. Her 11 grandchildren Danielle, Renae, James, Anne, Daquana, Samuel Jr., Alonzo Jr., Cameron, Alayah, Braxton, and Amber. Her great-grandchildren Aaliyah, Randy Jr., Renae, Patricia, James, Arya, Maddison, and Mila-Rose. Her sister Leala. A loving companion Bobby, Sr. A special friend Gena. And a host of nephews, nieces, and friends. Barbara was pre-deceased by sisters Doshea Mills and Josephine Hall, brother Ossie Mills, son Daniel Mills, and grandson Daniel IV. Barbara leaves these final words for her family “My life has not been easy, but I have loved my children through it all. I never had a lot to give, but they always had my love. They have given me grandkids the loves of my life and my grandkids have given me great grandkids another love of my life. I want everyone to come together as my family.” Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Wednesday, July 6th at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp.
