Born in Salem on April 16, 1921 to the late George Barcus and Ruth Ricketts Barcus Watty, she was the wife of the late James W. Dickerson. She had lived in Camden for several years then moved to Bridgeton where she was a resident for most of her life. She had worked as a homemaker and was a member of the Jehova's Witness Irving Avenue Congregation. She loved spending time with babies, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by; her children, May Howard of Atco, Joyce Shorts (Edward) of Pennsgrove, Barbara Hunt of Camden, Zitina Watson of Camden, James Dickerson of Florida, Raylisa Dickerson of Bridgeton, Sharell Jackson (Lewis) of Bridgeton and Steven Dickerson of Bridgeton; her siblings, Molly Brown of Rahway, Joan Ceaser of Millville, Marie Wilson of Fairton, and Joseph Watty of Fairfield Township; 41 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by; two daughters, Diana Dickerson and Marsha "Peachy-Pie" Dickerson and five siblings, Naomi Danzler, Angeline Goldsboro, Edith Bratcher, Joe Barcus, and Gordon Barcus. Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Gouldtown Cemetery in Fairfield Township. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11 AM to 12 Noon, prior to the services.
