Beatrice Jenny Taylor, 88, lifelong resident of Millville, NJ died at home surrounded by loved ones, Saturday, May 28th 2022. Born in 1934, Beatrice was one of 6 children of Pleasant and Grandville Simmerman. She met her lifelong soul mate, Lawrence, as a young girl and they later married in 1950. They were married for 65 years when Lawrence passed away. Beatrice along with her husband and children, operated Cedar Buck Farms. Even though Beatrice was “the farmers’ wife”, she actually was the backbone of the business, overseeing every facet of farming and working tirelessly in the fields and roadside market. A woman of many passions and hobbies, she loved to go bow hunting and won several archery tournaments. Beatrice enjoyed sewing, gardening, coin collecting, swimming and antique shopping. After retiring from farming, Beatrice started an auction house for collectibles and antiques. She also managed the ice cream parlor at Wheaton Village and worked for BW Stetson. She had such a talent for cooking and baking and even developed her own recipes for cakes and pies. Beatrice loved children and in her 50’s she started her own private day care. The children referred to her as Mom-Mom and they couldn’t wait to go each morning and cried when they had to leave her care at the end of each day. Beatrice was a lifelong member of her childhood church, Mt Pleasant United Methodist. She loved the Lord and her church family. With such an extraordinary life full of talent, her greatest passion was being a mom, grandmom, great grandmom and great, great grandmom. Beatrice cherished every moment with family and was an exemplary role model for her entire family. She instilled the values of honesty, integrity, compassion, love and hard work to her family. Beatrices’ legacy of love and spirit of “family first” will continue to grow in the 5 generations she created and beyond.
