Obituary of Darryl Hubert, Sr.

Darryl Hubert, Sr., 65, of Newark, DE passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at his home. Born in Bridgeton to Nila Statten and the late James Jones, he was a resident of Newark, DE for many years. Darryl was a graduate of Bridgeton High School and had attended school to become a certified auto mechanic. Darryl had been most recently employed as the head mechanic at Porter Chevrolet in Newark, DE and had also worked for Kmart Automotive. If any of his family and friends were in need of auto repair work he was always there to help. In his free time, Darryl enjoyed fishing, working on race cars and playing basketball. He was also an avid sports fan and loved the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia 76ers. He is survived by; his children, Darryl Hubert, Jr. of Bridgeton and Meagyn Hubert of DE; his mother, Nila Statten of Bridgeton; his siblings, Brenda Robbins and Andrew of Egg Harbor Twp., Eddie Hubert of Vineland, Michael Statten of Bridgeton, Rosalie Statten of Bridgeton and Lysharon Statten of Millville; his nieces and nephews, Andrette and Isaiah Goldsborough of PA, Tavette Robbins of Millville, Shanece Robbins of Millville, Antonio Statten of Bridgeton, Destiny Winrow of Bridgeton, TJ Rogers of Millville and Lashonda Rogers of Jersey City and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by; his father, James Jones and his brother, Cornell Statten. A visitation and gathering of family and friends will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday, April 7th from 10 AM to 12 Noon.
