Obituary of Charlene Anita Feagin

We celebrate the life of the creative and brilliant, Charlene Anita (nee´ Forman) Feagin, 69 of Bridgeton, who passed from this life on March 1, 2022. A sister, friend, aunt, and mother, Charlene was surrounded and supported by her daughter and brothers during the last months of her life. Charlene was born in Dayton, Ohio, to Catherine (nee´ Carreker) and Charles Forman, Sr. She moved to Bridgeton, New Jersey, with her parents and older sister, Karen. While the family was in Bridgeton, her parents would give birth to her three brothers–-Charles, Russell, and Edward--whom she taught, defended, teased and loved. After graduating from Bridgeton High School, she attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. It was in Motown where she would marry and give birth to her daughter, Nikki (so called out of honor to Charlene’s favorite poet, Nikki Giovanni). Upon returning to Bridgeton, Charlene worked at Millville Hospital’s Emergency Room. She transferred to the Billing Department in order to spend more time with her family and would stay at Inspira Hospital System for more than 40 years, retiring earlier this year. It was at the former South Jersey Hospital System where she formed many lasting friendships. An avid reader, seamstress, and crocheter, she was fluent in French and witty sarcasm. Charlene is survived by daughter, N’kenge “Nikki” Feagin; brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Jessica Forman; brother Edward Forman; niece, Schnaill (Wise) Forrest; nephews Michael Forman, Clifford “Shock” Wise, Christopher Forman, and Lewis Forman; and grandnephews and grandnieces. Also left to treasure her memory are many other cherished family and friends. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and Charles Forman; sister, Karen Lee (née Forman) Wise; brother, Charles Forman; and nephews, Steven Forman and Tremayne Wise. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 18th at 11AM at the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp.
