Cynthia Elaine Brown (Haynes) was born on March 19, 1963 in Miami, Florida. She was the eldest daughter of the late Daniel Haynes and Rosa Murphy of Fairfield, New Jersey. She was loved and cherished by her three younger sisters. She was raised in a home centered around family, caring, and spiritual growth. Attending church regularly with her parents, Cynthia received a firm foundation in the Lord. At an early age, Cynthia attended Union Baptist Temple in Bridgeton, New Jersey and became a member of the choir. She graduated from Cumberland Regional High School in 1981. With her outgoing personality, she was affectionately loved by her classmates. After graduation, she attended Cumberland County College. She worked at Hunts Wesson Foods for several years. She then went on to work for Vineland Developmental Center where she retired after 30 years. She enjoyed working there and was well loved by her VDC family. After retirement, she became a crossing guard for Millville Public School Systems. She adored each child on her route. She would even give them hats and scarves to keep them warm in the winter. Cynthia was a bright beacon of light to everyone that she came in contact with. She adored her daughter, Amber. The two Her smile could light up any room. She loved to host parties and celebrate every holiday. Her home holiday decor could be seen miles away. She loved music especially RnB and Smooth Jazz. On September 20, 2014, one of the best days of her life, Cynthia married the love of her life, Gordon Drew Brown. He was her “Gingerbread Man’ and she was his “Black Butterfly”. She never hesitated to declare her undying love for him and she definitely showed it. The loving couple adventurously lived life to the fullest. They traveled often taking cruises and vacations. They especially loved to visit Virginia Beach. Cynthia E. Brown entered into her eternal rest on the morning of March 6, 2022. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Gordon Brown; her unconditional loving daughter: Amber Frain of Millville, NJ; nurturing mother, Rosa L. Murphy of Fairfield, NJ; two sisters: Shirley (Dennis) Wright of Bridgeton, NJ and Yolanda (Willie) Crosley; six sister-in-laws: Kiyania Brown of Bridgeton, NJ, Dawn (Nick) Muringani of Mullica Hill, NJ, Yvette (Victor) Avillan of Maple Shade, NJ, Chandra Brown of Bridgeton, NJ, Carmen Brown of Fairfield, NJ, and Antoinette (James) Marshall of Worcester, Massachusetts; one brother-in-law Guy (Monica) Brown, Metropolis, Illinois; three nieces: Ciara (Michael) Saunders of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, Tika (Randy) Crosley of Buena, NJ, and Natasha Crosley of Bridgeton, NJ; two nephews: Eric (Nakesha) Haynes of Bridgeton, NJ and Brandon (Crystal) Haynes of Salem, NJ; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and dear friends. Cynthia E. Brown was predeceased by her father, Daniel Haynes of Fairfield, New Jersey, step father, Robert Murphy of Fairfield, New Jersey and loving sister Tammy Haynes of Bridgeton, New Jersey. Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist Temple, 29 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, Bridgeton on Monday, March 14th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp.
