Obituary of Willard Samuel Goldsborough

Please share a memory of Willard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Willard “Spider” Goldsborough, 85, of Candor, NC and formerly of Fairfield Township, NJ, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the First Health Hospice House in Pinehurst, NC. Born in Bridgeton to the late Ira Maxwell Goldsborough and Mary Deloris Goldsborough, he was the husband of Katie Streeter Goldsborough. He met his wife, Katie in 1960 and with this union had three children, Martina “Tina” Thomas (Chris) of Morganton, NC, Isaiah “Mark” Goldsborough (Andrette) of Dover, PA and Jahaziel “J.L.” Goldsborough (April) of Candor, NC. Spider enjoyed time spent with his family and friends and never met a stranger or had a problem striking up a conversation. He was truly a jack of all trades and through the years had many jobs including the Cumberland County Road Department where he retired from after 15 years. He also had worked for over 40 years with the Padgett Funeral Home, had been a volunteer fireman with the Gouldtown Fire Company and a limousine driver to name a few. He also is survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by seven brothers and six sisters. He will be deeply missed by many. Funeral services were held at the R.C. Bostic and Son Funeral Home in Candor, NC on Friday, February 25th at 10:00 AM. Friends were received from 9:00 to 10:00 AM prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment followed the services at the Lewis Liles Cemetery in Biscoe, NC. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: II Timothy 4:7 Daddy, no more pain. The tears will slowly stop, but your memory will last forever. I will always love you!! Martina
