Obituary of Gladys L. Buck

Gladys L. Buck, 89, of Cape May Courthouse, formerly of Port Norris passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Crest Haven Nursing Center in Cape May Courthouse. Born in Calvert County, MD to the late Kallep Buck and Tinnie Howard Buck, she was a resident of Port Norris for many years but had lived on Long Island in the 1950's. Prior to her retirement, Gladys had been employed at the Woodbine Developmental Center for over 15 years. Before that she had worked in the Seafood Industry for Snows Clam House, Riggins and Robbins and Clam Corp. She was a long time member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Port Norris and sang on five choirs including; the combined choir, the Jubileers, the Mass Choir and the John Wesley United Methodist Church choir. She had also served proudly as a communion steward at the church. In her free time, Gladys enjoyed walking and cooking in the church kitchen. She is survived by; two children, Tonya Buck of Cape May Courthouse and Duran Buck (Crystal) of Cape May Courthouse; her nephew, George Buck of Calvert County, MD; four grandchildren, Breonna, Duran “DJ”, Jr., Alyssa and Bianca; three great grandchildren, Harmoni', Ceonni and Armanii and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. She was preceded in death by; seven brothers, Andrew Buck, William Buck, Walter Buck, Amos Buck, Leroy Buck, Benjamin Buck and Joe Buck and three sisters, Mable Buck, Pearl Wheeler and Helen Buck. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, February 19th at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services.
