Obituary of Iva Jean Newcomb

Born in Port Norris on June 13, 1930 to the late Joseph M. Lore and Elizabeth Hoffman Lore, she was the wife of the late Alvin E. Newcomb. She had been a lifetime resident of Port Norris. She had been employed as a cashier with Newcomb's Market in Port Norris for over 20 year and also did volunteer work at the Commercial Township Senior Citizens Center. She attended the Port Norris United Methodist Church. Surviving are four children, Alvin M. Lore and his wife Kathy of Cedarville, Robert M. Hemple, Jr. and his wife Mary of Vineland, Brenda J. Ford and her husband Darrell of Millville and Alvin E. Newcomb, Jr. and his wife Jodi of Port Norris; two sisters, Elizabeth Dash of FL and Nancy Walsh of Vineland; two brothers, Joseph M. Lore, Jr. of AZ and Herbert J. Lore and his wife Jean of FL, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Sheppard L. Lore and a grandchild, Robert M. Hemple, III. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main Street, Cedarville, on Friday, December 28th at 11 AM. Interment will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Mrs. Newcomb's memory be made to the Port Norris United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 123, Port Norris, NJ 08349.
