Wharton I. Green, age 103, of Voorhees and formerly of Fairfield Township passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Yardley Commons Assisted Living in Voorhees. Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of the late Isaac Green and Bessie Wynder Green and was the husband of the late Pattie Moore Green. He had been a Voorhees resident for seven years and prior to that had lived in Fairfield Township and Bridgeton. Before his retirement in 1981 he had been employed with the United States Postal Service Office in Bridgeton for 25 years. He had also previously worked for the former Aberfoyle Textile Co. in Bridgeton. He was a veteran of World War Two, serving his country in the United States Army in the European Theater and a member of Union Baptist Temple in Bridgeton. Surviving are his daughters, Patsy Ann Carter of Bridgeton and Jacqueline Green-Hill of Florida along with five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by two brothers, Shelton Green and James Green. Funeral services were held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11:00AM. Friends were received from 9:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the services. Interment took place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.
