Obituary of Carlos Calixto

Carlos Calixto, 44, of Upper Deerfield Township passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Inspira Medical Center – Vineland. The son of Barbara Cortez Calixto of Mexico and the late Juan Calixto, he was born in Brooklyn, NY and was the husband of Crystal Hess Calixto. He had been an Upper Deerfield Township resident for 17 years and prior to that had lived in Bridgeton and Brooklyn, NY. Carlos had been employed as an assistant crew manager with the New Jersey Dept. of Transportation, Vineland Yard for the past ten years. An avid golfer, he was a member of the North Italy Club Golf League and the Italian American Political Club Golf League. He also enjoyed playing volleyball and pickleball and was a member of the Vineland Picklers Pickleball League. In addition to his wife, Crystal whom he had been with for 24 years and his mother, Barbara, he is survived by his precious daughter whom he adored, Charlize Calixto and his brother, Eric Calixto of Bridgeton. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Thursday, Dec. 30th at 2:00 PM. A walk through visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Township. It is requested that everyone wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Carlo’s memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
