Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John Craig Hoffman was taken home to be with lord after suddenly passing from a brief illness on Sunday December 12, 2021. He was born on September 29, 1943 in New Bethlehem Pennsylvania before becoming a long time resident of Bridgeton NJ. After serving 2 years in the United States Army as a Private E-1 he received the National Defense Service Metal, a Good Conduct Metal and was an Expert in “Rifle M-14” After his time served in the Army he then became employed at Owens Illinois before entering into what would his long time career with IUOE Local 825 Union as an Operating Engineer until retirement in 2000. After retirement he could easily be found at his brother Wayne’s gas station hanging with the guys enjoying his coffee and donuts and or eating at any of the local dinners especially Angie’s Grill on Broad St. Throughout Johns life, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He always made time to go “back home” to visit his beloved mother and the rest of Hoffman crew. John was a member of the NHRA and had a passion for Drag Racing. John's nickname at the racetrack was MacGyver, because if it was broke John would fix it. He raced most of his lifetime, his home track was always ATCO Raceway but was no stranger to many others. Those who knew John knew he was old school and as straight forward as they come. Most of all John loved his family and friends and we all loved him more. John Hoffman will be greatly missed . He is survived by; his brother, Wayne Hoffman; his sister, Larue Hoffman-Cheeseman; his brother Kenneth Hoffman and his wife, Vicki nee Kunselman; his nieces, Debra DuBois, Kelly Hoffman, Ashley Hoffman Nicklaus and Tracy Hoffman Kumer and his nephew, Kenny Wayne Hoffman.
