Obituary of Richard A. Bell

Richard A. Bell, 84, of Millville passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021 at his home. Born in Templeton, PA to the late Evelyn Bell, he was the husband of Barbara Green Bell and had been predeceased by his first wife, Eleanor Abbott Bell. Richard had been a resident of Millville for the past five years and before that he had resided in Upper Deerfield Twp. since 1959. Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a boiler installer with DELVAL EQUIPMENT in Valley Forge, PA. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Elmer Lodge. Richard enjoyed camping and often spent time camping in Lancaster, PA with his family. He enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida and time spent in Maine. He was also an avid hunter and a fan of auto racing, especially NASCAR and had been a driver at the Old Vineland Speedway. He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Bell of Millville; his son, Rick Bell (Carole) of Fairfield Twp.; his brother, Malhon A. Garrison of Elmer; two step-daughters, Barbara Farside (Thomas) of Vineland and Paula Rodgers (Michael) of Millville; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Besides his first wife, Eleanor F. Bell, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edwin Carl Garrison and his step-father, Malhon Atwood Garrison. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Monday, November 8th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Olivet Cemetery in Pittsgrove Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
