As I sit here writing this tribute to Mr. Morris, I am reflecting on all of our conversations after he would arrive back home on May 1, every year. We would spend time catching up on all of the events that happened in town since he went back to Florida, and just talk about this ,I will always remember his out in his garden with his big straw hat weeding and tending all of his plants. I was always the first to get his fresh bounty of tomatoes, squash, melons, or whatever he had growing that season. He was a true neighbor in every sense of the word. I will miss his tremendously not seeing him leave early in the morning for his breakfast club meetings every morning with newspaper in hand. We would talk in the summer a lot while he would be getting ready to mow his grass, or work around his yard. I am so sorry that he is no longer with us, and I will miss him deeply. He was my friend.
