Obituary of Janet M. Armstrong

Janet M. Armstrong, 94, of Millville passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. Born in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry Knauer and Dorothy Mills Knauer. She had lived in Millville for the past ten years and prior to that resided in Florida. Before her retirement, Janet had been employed as a switchboard operator for Indian River County, Vero Beach, Florida. Janet enjoyed gardening and the outdoors and especially time spent with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing Solitaire and helping others whenever she could. Surviving are her four children, Deborah Fooks (Albert) of Millville, Thomas R. Turner, Jr. (Sandy) of Upper Deerfield Township, Nancy A. Warburton of Hopewell Township and Charlene Elbirn (Bill) of Hopewell Township; eight grandchildren, Tracy Michnya, Jennifer Osterman, Jodi Pastirko, Jason Turner, Jeremy Warburton, Steven Warburton, Christopher Elbirn and Lindsey Elbirn along with several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters. Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 25th at 11:30 AM at Aldine Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Janet’s memory be made to Angelic Hospice, 8025 Black Horse Pike, Suite 501, West Atlantic City, NJ 08232.
