Obituary of Phyllis A. Bryant

Phyllis A. Goldsborough-Bryant, 70 went home to be with the Lord on Monday October 11, 2021 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Donald H. and Lottie Goldsborough. Phyllis was born in Elmer, NJ being the first black female baby to be born in this hospital on April 27, 1951.
Phyllis was a lifelong resident of Bridgeton, NJ attending and graduating from the Bridgeton Public Schools.
She was a member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church in Bridgeton,NJ.
Phyllis and Thomas Bryant entered into marriage on September 27, 1995. During this Phyllis and Thomas were “stuck like glue” they enjoyed spending all available time together, even working for the same company for many years.
She enjoyed traveling with friends, spending time with family. Phyllis also enjoyed experimenting with new meals she happened to see while scrolling on Facebook. She especially loved hosting her family and closest friends on New Year’s Day. This meal was everyone’s favorite way to start a New Year.
Phyllis was always there with a helping hand for family and friends. If you needed something you could count on her, if she could not do it she would find someone who could.
She was employed at Wheaton Glass in Millville, NJ which changed hands several times over her Forty-five-year tenure. After their closure Phyllis became employed with the Ardagh Group in Bridgeton, NJ for six years before she became ill and went to be with the Lord.
Phyllis leaves to cherish her memories her Loving husband of 26 years Thomas Bryant. One brother Reverend Douglas (Joann) Goldsborough Sr of Bridgeton, NJ, two sisters Agnes Mason of Bridgeton, NJ and Betty Bailey-Nutter of Port Norris, NJ. Three brothers-in-law Larry (Shelia) Bryant, Tyrone Bryant and Dennis (Judy) Bryant all of Bridgeton. One sister Barbara Jean Bryant of Bridgeton, NJ. Three bonus children Tyrone Bryant and Cheryl Bryant both of Bridgeton, NJ and Parris Bryant of Mays Landing, NJ. One Uncle Willard (Kate) Goldsborough of Conners, NC, one Aunt Yvonne Wisher of Woodstown, NJ. One goddaughter Shonta Mason of Bridgeton, NJ. Three specials cousin’s Timothy “Neil” Jones, Louis Thompson, and Emily “Whezzy” Washington. A few very special friends Beverly, Joann, Barbara, Twanniqua and Jimmy that she enjoyed exploring the world with. A host of bonus grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents Donald H and Lottie Goldsborough, two brothers Rodger N. Goldsborough, Donald A. Goldsborough, and a goddaughter Yasmine Jones. She was also preceded by three brothers-in-law John M. Nutter, Leroy Bryant, and Richard Mason Sr.
