Obituary of Marion A. Brooks

Marion A. Brooks, age 76, of Bridgeton died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at South Jersey Extended Care in Bridgeton following a six month period of declining health. The daughter of the late Lloyd and Anna Summers Riley, she was born in Stamford, CT on March 4, 1936 and was the wife of the late George G. Brooks. A Bridgeton resident since 1979, she had previously lived in Millville. Before her retirement she had been employed with the Kerr Glass Co. in Millville and also had been a nurse's aide at Bridgeton Hospital. A member of GMP Union Local 257, she loved to read, crochet, knit and cook and nothing was more important to her than her family-especially her great-grandson, Aidan. She is survived by a son, George G. Brooks, Jr. of Millville; a daughter, Deborah Flaherty of Greenwich; a brother, James Riley of Stamford, CT; four grandsons, George G. Brooks, III, Scott P. Riley, Gregory M. Brooks and Sean T. Riley and her great-grandson, Aidan Scott Riley along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Lloyd and Richard Riley and two sisters, Janet Farina and Catherine Romano. Graveside services will be held at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. on Wed., Dec. 12th at 10 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
