Norman B. “Shorty” Davis, Sr., 90, of Vineland formerly of Bridgeton passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Spring Oak Assisted Living in Vineland. Born in Bridgeton to the late Daniel W. Davis and Mary G. Loper Davis, he was the husband of Blanche E. Hall Davis. Norman had been a resident of Bridgeton most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by with NJ Bell Telephone and Bell Atlantic for 31 years. Norman is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. serving during the Korean Conflict. He had been involved with the West Cumberland Little League in several positions for 40 years. In his free time, Norman enjoyed playing golf and participated in the NJ Bell Golf League. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Most of all, Norman enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by; his wife of 71 years, Blanche E. Davis of Vineland; four children, Norman B. “Dave” Davis of Bridgeton, Stephen M. Davis (Jennifer) of NY, Jeffrey S. Davis of New Brunswick, and Karin L. Brodzik (Michael) of Pittsgrove; his brother, Frederick Davis of Shiloh; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; his brother, Marvin Davis and his sister, Naomi Hertlein. A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 12 NOON at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Norman's memory to the West Cumberland Little League, P.O. Box 285, Shiloh, NJ 08353.
