Sylvia Lucas Purdy, 62, of Cedarville passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at her home.
Born in Vineland, she was the daughter of the late Earl Fontaine Lucas and Anita Scavelli Lucas and the wife of Anthony Purdy. She had grown up in Malaga until her graduation from High School and then lived in Vineland with her sister for a brief period. She then moved to Millville when she started working at Wheaton Glass company and then to Cedarville where she had resided since the late 1980's.
Before her retirement in 2010, she had been a quality inspector for 30 years in the glass industry. She had also worked at Alcan Packaging in Millville and was a cosmetologist in her younger years at several local salons.
Sylvia enjoyed watching classic movies, listening to Jazz and also enjoyed painting. A devoted animal lover, she loved caring for her pets, especially her cats.
In addition to her husband, Anthony, she is survived by her daughter, Taylor Purdy of Cedarville; her step-daughter, Jennifer Purdy of Vineland and her two brothers, Mark Lucas (Susan) of Vineland and Brian Lucas of FL. She was predeceased by her sister, Gloria Pierce.
