My condolences goes out to your family during this time of loss. I remember Ms. Verna fondly as she and my grandmother Mrs. Dot Spencer were close friends and always looked out for one another. I cannot count the number of times as a little girl I would need to go up North Avenue to go give her something from my grandmother or go pick something up for her from Verna. There was nothing that went on up or down North Avenue that she did not notice or know about, each time I would visit not 10 minutes after I was in the driveway the phone would ring and it would be Verna checking to see who was there. I would make a special trip up the street to say hello before I would head back home to Texas. You mother, grandmother, great-grandmother was a very special lady and will be remembered fondly by those that got to know her. Take care of her penguins.
