Obituary of Mary L. Adams

Mary L. Adams, 99, of Bridgeton passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. The wife of the late Rev. Hiram C. Adams, she was born in Tifton, GA and was the daughter of the late James R. Russell and Maggie Moss Russell. She had lived in Philadelphia from the mid 1940’s through the mid 1960’s and then moved to Bridgeton where she had resided ever since. Before her retirement, Mary had worked as a sewing machine operator for Major Clothing Company and Little Star Clothing Company in Bridgeton and was also a self employed child care provider. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Glassboro where she had been very active. In her free time she loved to sew clothing for family and friends. Surviving are her son, Curtis Adams (Grace) of EHT; three daughters, Carylon Doyle of Bridgeton, Gwendolyn Cannon-Scott (Johnnie) and Christina Little of GA and a special nephew, Joseph Boger of Bridgeton. She was predeceased by her first husband, Van Boger and second husband, Rev. Hiram C. Adams and her siblings, John Russell, Stella Boger, Lillie Hawkins, James Russell, Jr., Sarah Smith, Wilbert Russell, Sr., Curley Bryant and Dora Starks. Funeral services will be held at the Voice of Deliverance New Covenant Church, 1413 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland on Saturday, October 2nd at 10:00 AM. Visitation will take place from 8:00 to 10:00 AM prior to the services at the church. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Township.
