Obituary of Frederick E. Burkett

Frederick E. Burkett, III, 74, of Cedarville passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 21, 2021. The husband of the late Catherine Sheets Burkett, he was born in Millville and was the son of the late Frederick E. Burkett, Jr. and Margaret Donoflio Burkett. He had been a Cedarville resident since 1984 and had lived in Millville prior to that. Before his retirement, Fred had been employed as a corrections officer with the Southern States Correctional Facility in Leesburg. He was also a skilled glassblower as were several other members of his family. He served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the Millville Assembly of God Church. An avid poker player, he also enjoyed fishing and motorcycle riding in the years past. Surviving are his three sons, Frederick E. Burkett, IV (Kitty) of Cedarville, Robert K, Burkett, Sr. (Nicole) of East Vineland and Raymond M. Burkett, Sr. (Amy) of East Vineland along with eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Bertha Ann Lucas. A visitation will be held at the Millville Assembly of God, 1700 Wheaton Avenue, Millville on Monday, August 30th from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Graveside funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Millville where the interment will follow the services.
