Born in Fairton to the late John E. Miller and Ella Ott Miller, he was the husband of the late Elma Veale Miller. He had been a lifetime resident of the Bridgeton area. A veteran of World War Two, he served his country with the United States Army in the European Theater. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Miller worked for the 7 Up Bottling Co. in Bridgeton for many years. He was also previously employed by the Aberfoyle Corp. in Bridgeton. He was a member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church in Bridgeton and was an avid vegetable gardener. For 20 years, he and his late wife, Ella, wintered in Lake Waldena, FL. Surviving are five daughters, Betty Miller-Reinhardt of Elmer, Edna Knerr and her husband David of Somers Point, Carolyn Miller of Deerfield Township, Deborah Ford and her husband Dale of Shiloh and Karen Nardelli of Deerfield Township; a brother, Raymond Miller of Vineland; two sisters, Evelyn Gandy of Bridgeton and Mabel Zimmerman of Wisconsin, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Wilbert Miller, Jr., four brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 7th at the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. at 10 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that contributions be made in Mr. Miller's memory to the Cumberland County SPCA, 1244 N. Delsea Dr., Vineland, NJ 08360.
