John E. Ingersoll, 75, Salem passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at his home.
Born in Bridgeton to the late Leon Ingersoll and Ellen Clour Ingersoll, he was a resident of Salem most of his life after moving there from Bridgeton while in grade school.
John worked many odd jobs around the neighborhood including; landscaping and lawn care. He was also formerly employed at Joe and Sandy's Country Store stocking the shelves and cleaning, Mad Horse Creek Crabs as a delivery driver and at Cowtown working with several different vendors. In his free time, John loved to play horseshoes and pinochle, visiting the Cowtown Rodeo, going to local flea markets and watching western movies and television shows. He was also an avid fan of WWE wrestling and NASCAR. He would often browse through car magazines thinking about his dream cars.
He is survived by many cousins and friends throughout the area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Ellen Ingersoll; his sisters, Arlene Simpkins and Leona Ingersoll; his brother in law, Harry Simpkins and his nephew, Edward Oliver.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, July 9th at Canton Baptist Cemetery, 700 Smick Rd., Salem NJ 08079 at 10 AM.
