Obituary of Don Franklin

Don Franklin, 71, of Dividing Creek passed away peacefully at the home of his son, Donald with Theresa and Jerry by his side on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. Born in Waynesville, NC to the late Thomas Franklin and Lona Conrad Franklin, he was the husband of Judy Franklin. Don moved to NJ in his late teens where he was a resident for the rest of his life, mainly residing in the Downe Twp. area. Prior to his retirement, Don had worked as a self employed contractor at his business, Don Franklin and Son Remodeling for 40 years. He had been previously employed by Wheaton Glass Co. in Millville for several years with his father-in-law, Ernest Parker. In his free time, he enjoyed deer and raccoon or "coon" hunting and muskrat trapping with his good friend, Joe Parks and his brothers and most recently deer hunting with his son, Donald and his wife, Theresa. He is survived by; his wife, Judy of Gloucester; two sons, Donald Lee (Theresa) of Port Norris and Robert Thomas of Gloucester; two daughters, Tina and Diane of Bridgeton; a brother, Jerry Phillips of Dividing Creek; a sister, Edith Whitney of North Carolina; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; his son, Bricenn; his sisters, Beaula Rose and Vera Louise Kirkpatrick; his brothers, Herman, Rob, Doyle, Tom and Wayne and his great-grandson, Luke Williams. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, June 26th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Dividing Creek Baptist Cemetery in Downe Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
