Obituary of Charles H. Loew

Charles H. Loew, 82, of Hopewell Twp. passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Twp. Born in Bridgeton to the late William W. Loew, Sr. and Myrtle A. Osborne Loew, he was the husband of the late Dorothy A. Woodlin Loew. Charles had lived at his address in Hopewell Twp. his entire life. Charles had worked in the farming industry his entire working career and had been employed by; Sheppard Farms in Cedarville, William Holding Farms in Cedarville, Hopewell Nursery and his own family farm in Hopewell Twp. He was a member of West Park United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the South Jersey Gas Engine Club where he would work on and enjoy riding classic farming equipment. Charles was known to many as the “Mayor of Dutch Neck”. He is survived by his nephews, William W. Loew III and his wife, Janet of Hopewell Twp. and John A. Loew and his wife, April of Casa Grande, AZ; his great nieces and nephews with his affectionate nicknames for them, Daniel “Luppie” Loew and his wife, Tina of Shiloh, Katherine “Irene the Village Queen” VanPelt and her husband, Brad of Greenwich; Megan “Freda” Loew (Justin Snyder) of Marysville, OH and Cheyenne “Tessa” Loew of Davis Monthan AFB, AZ; his great-great-nephew, Beau “Charlie”VanPelt; his great-great niece Montana Loew and the VanPelt Twins (due august 2021) and his dog, Harper who he called Potlicker. He was preceded in death by; his wife, Dorothy A. Loew and his brother, William W. Loew, Jr. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday, May 20th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
