Obituary of Alma J. Cobbs

Alma J. Cobbs, 72, of Bridgeton passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. Born in Logan County, WV to the late Obbie Cobbs and Lucile Hamilton Cobbs, she was born, raised and educated in West Virginia. Alma later moved to Washington, DC following High School and then moved to Bridgeton where she lived for the rest of her life. Alma had been previously employed at the former Minots Foods in Bridgeton. In addition to factory work, she loved to babysit children and was a great help to many families around the Cumberland County Area. In her free time, she loved to watch movies and TV especially classic westerns and the lifetime network. Alma was also a huge fan of Walker: Texas Ranger. She is survived by; two children, James D. Cobbs (Shanekia) of Millville and Yvonne Cobbs of Bridgeton; five grandchildren, James Cobbs, Raven Cobbs, Semaj Cobbs, Ke-nu Cobbs and Charles Cooper, Jr.; her siblings, Brenda Steward, Roger Steward, Anthony Steward, Douglas Cobbs and James “Big Jim” Cobbs; her best friends, Ellie Holley of Bridgeton and Florence Evans of Bridgeton and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; two siblings, Yvonne Cobbs and June Cobbs and her honorary sister, Dolly “Shuggie” Moreland. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Wednesday, May 12th at 11 AM. Burial will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
