A. Harris “Knobby” Facemyer, 94 of Hopewell Township passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland.
Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of the late Herbert C. Facemyer and Frances Baker Facemyer and the husband of Mary Ann Cannon Facemyer. He had been a Bridgeton area resident most of his life.
Prior to his retirement in 1985, Harris had been employed for many years with the Verizon Corporation, formerly Bell Atlantic in the Engineering Department.
He was a Veteran of World War Two and served his country in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater.
Participating in athletics himself in the past, he was also an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed folowing the major Philadelphia Sports Teams.
In addition to his wife, Mary Ann, he is survived by his four children, Marianne F. Hagstrom (Georgianna) of FL, Michael H. Facemyer (Rebecca) of FL, Richard H. Facemyer (Ann) of FL and Gregory J. Facemyer (Bonnie) of Hopewell Township; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Souder (Stephen) of Mays Landing, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two of his grandchildren.
Private services were held at the convenience of the family with the interment taking place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Township. Arrangements were under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
