Obituary of Alan F. Roller

Alan F. Roller, 74, of Upper Deerfield Twp. passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at his home with his family. Born in Bridgeton to the late Clarence Roller and Edna Noss Roller, he was the husband of Diana Chiari Roller. Alan had been a resident of Upper Deerfield Twp. since 1994, but had been raised in Fairton. He had also lived in Fort Worth, TX for 16 years. Prior to his retirement, Alan had worked as a kitchen and bathroom remodeler for about 50 years and had owned and operated his own business, Roller Remodeling, since the early 1990's. Alan was a talented musician focusing mainly on guitar, singing and songwriting. He enjoyed playing and singing at many local Christian coffee houses over the past several years. He was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Bridgeton where he was a musician in the praise band and served on the Board of Trustees. He volunteered much of his free time to various roles at the church. Alan had also been a part of the Atco Praise Band for the past several years. His family had described music as his true passion in life. When not playing music or doing volunteer work at church, he enjoyed gardening at his home. Alan was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam conflict and had been involved with the Boy Scouts of America for many years as a scout leader. He is survived by his wife, Diana Roller of Upper Deerfield Twp.; his children, Kelsie Lynn Custodio (Angel) of Vineland, Jason Alan Roller (Elizabeth) of Alloway Twp., Veronica Grace Roller (Michael Salvatore) of Manhattan, New York City and Kim Clayton of John's Island, SC; his grandchildren, Heather Macera of Vineland, Carly and Christian Roller of Upper Deerfield Twp., Jason Roller, Jr. of Alloway Twp., Jared and Justin Carr of Alloway Twp., Sergio and Lorenzo Custodio of Vineland and two brothers, Gary Roller of Fairton and Wayne Roller of Somerset, KY. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 20th at Berean Baptist Church, 68 Vine Street, Bridgeton NJ. Family and friends will be received at the church at 12 Noon with the service starting at 1 PM and a luncheon to follow.
