Olaf "JR" Horton, Jr. was born in Bridgeton to the late Olaf H. Horton, Sr. and Doris E. Hignett Horton on July 7, 1948. Gail A. Horton was born in Bridgeton to Louise Richards Vittorini and the late Romey Vittorini on December 23, 1947. They had been Bridgeton residents all of their lives. Prior to his retirement in 2007, JR had worked at Duponts in Deepwater, NJ for over 40 years and also served in the National Guard. Gail provided daycare in her home for over 20 years. JR was an avid fisherman. The both enjoyed fixing up their home and gardening together. Their greatest joy was spending time with their beloved grandchildren and other family. They are survived by; their children, John O. Horton and his wife, Lisa of Estell Manor and Mellissa A. Horton of Connecticut; Gail's mother, Louise Vittorini of Bridgeton; Gail's brothers, Garry Vittorini and his wife, Cathy of Elkton, MD and Douglas Vittorini of Bridgeton; their grandchildren, Jessica Horton, Kara Horton and April Martha; and their nephews, Keith and Robert Vittorini of Elkton, MD. They were preceded in death by; JR's siblings, Milton Horton and Ella Horton. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp., at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
