Ellyn T. Mullen, 90, of Fairton passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. The wife of the late Leon C. “Chubby” Mullen , Sr., she was born in Newport and was the daughter of the late Paul and Myrtle Scythes. She had been a resident of Fairton for 67 years and had lived in Bridgeton and Newport prior to that. A homemaker, Ellyn loved to travel and enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles sports teams. She attended First Baptist Church in Bridgeton. Surviving are her son, Leon C. Mullen, Jr. of Fairton and a sister, Bonnie Hudson of Florida. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Mullen; four sisters, Doris Watson, Blanche Woodward, Barbara Scythes and Earlene Brooks and five brothers, Leslie Scythes, Billy Scythes, Bud Scythes, Frank Scythes and Mervin Scythes. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Monday, March 15th at 11:30 AM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:30 AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. Due to current regulations associated with the Covid-19 healthcare situation, we are limited to 75 people within the funeral home at a time and the understanding and cooperation of the public is greatly appreciated.
