Obituary of Michael R. Brooks

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. Michael R. Brooks Sr. was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, hard worker and friend. Michael was a firm believer in giving his time to Christ and the church. He dedicated many years to St. John’s Pentecostal Church and later the Word Alive Worship Center. He dedicated his time and equipment to establishing a successful music ministry, distributing bibles in the streets of Salem City, feeding the less fortunate dinners during the holidays as well as blessing families during the Christmas season. Michael was one of St. John’s Ministers and a member of the choir. Known for his lead in the John P Kee song “My Mind is Made Up”, he would transform from the quiet guy to the boisterous tenor praising the lord. He was loved by so many and will truly be missed. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Mabel (Pitts) and Eric Brooks; his brothers, Eric, Donald, David and Ronald. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; his sons, Michael Jr. (Khara) and Robert (Krystal); his daughter, Maya; five cherished grandchildren, Olivia, Ava, Robert Jr., Noah and Amaya; his sisters, Delores, Cynthia and brother, Victor (Yvonne). He is also survived by many relatives, friends and church family. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Monday, March 1st at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Due to current regulations associated with the Covid-19 healthcare situation, we are limited to 75 people within the funeral home at a time and the understanding and cooperation of the public is greatly appreciated.
