Rev. Jonathan Lonnie Murray, Sr., 64, of Millville passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. The son of Jonathan N. Murray and Dorothy Gibbs Murray he was born in Cape May Court House and was the husband of Lugeania Bowyer Murray. He had been a Millville resident for over 30 years and had lived in Woodbine prior to that. Before his retirement, he had been employed with the Atlantic City Electric Company at the Beasley’s Point Generating Station. Rev. Murray was currently Assistant Pastor at the Soar Church in Woodbine where he had served for 22 years. He had played football and baseball in High School and was an avid motorcyclist. He also enjoyed driving tractor and trailer rigs. In addition to his wife Lugeania, he is survived by his two children, Nekia Murray of Millville and Demond Murray of Somerdale; one brother, Gary Murray of Woodbine; six sisters, Camille Murray of Woodbine, Terry Murray of Vineland, Gail Murray of Cape May Court House, Denise Harris of Woodbine, Paula Smith of Bridgeton and Darlene Murray of VA along with 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and his church family. He was predeceased by his son, Jonathan L. Murray, Jr. A visitation will be held at the Soar Church, 1324 Dehirsch Avenue, Woodbine on Friday, January 15th from 9:00 AM to 11:00AM. Funeral services will be private for the family. Interment will take place at Woodbine Cemetery.
