Stanley Jefferson Hickman April 8, 1948 – December 26, 2020 Stanley J. Hickman of Vineland, New Jersey was called home to the lord, Saturday December 26th, 2020 at Inspira Hospital of Vineland. Born in Port Norris (Shellpile) on April 8, 1948 to Lawrence and Anna (Thomas) Hickman, he was the fourth of nine children. He attended Port Norris School and was a graduate of Millville High School (Class of 1966) and Rowan University with a degree in Social Services. In August of 1968, Stanley joined the United States Army (101st Airborne and Military Police) during the Vietnam Era and served as NCOIC of the World-Wide Security to Army One Helicopter assigned to the President and First Family of the United States. Stanley received multiple decorations, medals and badges including the Presidential Service Badge and National Defense Medal. Stanley met the love of his life Angeline P. (Tull) Hickman in 1976, they wed in July of 1978 and from this bond had 2 children Damon Stanley Hickman and Kandyce Ashlie Hickman (Jeffrey). Stanley was also blessed with two daughters and one son, Sherri (Joe) Richardson and Angelique Hickman from a prior marriage and a son Ronald Tull through his marriage to Angeline. Stanley was an avid and extraordinary outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing and had a love for raising and training beagles. Stanley was also a big sports fan, he loved his Philadelphia Eagles/Phillies and was a big Track and Field enthusiast. He could be found when healthy at all local track/relay meets and would be found every year in the bleachers at the 3rd turn of the Penn Relays enjoying the races with his friends and family. Stanley enjoyed traveling with his wife visiting the Caribbean multiple times, Hawaii, Mexico and Canada. Stanley was employed for 17 years as Vice President of Personnel Services at Tri-County Community Action Agency in Bridgeton,NJ and as Special Projects Coordinator with JTPA from 1977-1991. More than anything in this world Stanley loved his grandchildren and spent as much time as he could with them. Stanley had a deep love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and gave his life in service to the Lord early in life. Along with his wife and children, Stanley has left his love and memory with his sisters Rev. Dr. Apostle Yvonne Carter of Vineland, Sandra (Pryor) Hicks of Newport News Va., April Hickman of Millville NJ and Mendell Hickman of Vineland NJ. Nine Grandchildren; Raiya, Cierra, Ronald Jr., Rondell, Ronisa, Joy, Aamilah, Micah and Elara. Nephew and nieces Lawrence (Denise) Hickman, Stephen (Sherrie) Williams, Michael (Ellen) Williams, Kelly Hickman, Shawnti Lee, Tiffani Hicks and Cherie Hicks. Brothers and Sister in-law Burman (Lois) Grant , Tyrone(Janine), Wesley, Kelvin (Crystal), Wade and Carla Tull. He also leaves to cherish his memory many other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and associates. He was predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Anna Hickman and four brothers Lawrence (Clara), Lionel (Betty), Gregory (Marida) and Ray Hickman. Funeral Services will be held at Padgett Funeral Home 1107 NJ-77 in Bridgeton NJ, on FridayJanuary 8th,2020 at 11am in a private ceremony for immediate and close family. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9:30am through 10:30am with social distancing and masks kept in mind. All are welcome to the Burial which will occur immediately after the service at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Township, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of Padgett Funeral Home in Bridgeton NJ. Written Condolences may be sent to the family through the Funeral home website
