Obituary of Richard J. Catlin

Richard J. Catlin, 74, of Cedarville passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at his home under the care of his family and hospice. Born in Philadelphia to the late Robert Catlin and Regina Maar Catlin, he was the husband of Kathleen Hennis Catlin and had been a Cedarville resident for 15 years. Before coming to Cedarville he had lived in Frederick, Maryland. Richard was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and served his country in the United States Navy. Before his retirement, he had been employed with the M. Alfieri Corporation in Edison. Prior to that he was a pipefitter and worked at the Navy Shipyard in Philadelphia. He was a fan of classic television shows and an avid football fan following both college and professional teams. In addition to his wife, Kathleen, he is survived by a son, Robert Catlin (Jill) of SC; step children Shawn VanMeter (Jeff) of Millville, Michael Kostiak of Westville, Brian Kostiak of Westville and Kelly Burger of Absecon; 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and his special dogs, Red Bone Coon Hound, Junie Bee, Chihuahua, Fat Fred and his Lab Mix, Shadow. Services are private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Richard’s memory be made to Angelic Hospice.
