Obituary of Elmer F. Gould, Sr.

Elmer Fredrick Gould, Sr., 74, of Fairfield Township passed away at his home on Sunday, December 13, 2020. He was a lifelong resident of Gouldtown. After graduating from Bridgeton High School, he joined the Bridgeton Police Department. He was later employed by the Garden State Bus Company, Elmo’s Service Center, Lickanchuks, Main Line Fuel and the Fairfield Township Office of Emergency Management. Elmer was also an active member of KQSTU Ham Radio Amateur Radio Club. He was always willing to reach out to help anyone with a technology issue. He was a longtime member of the Bridgeton Assembly of God where he mentored and helped many. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Charlotte D. Gould (nee Gardenhire); his son, Elmer F. Gould, Jr. (Brandi); his daughters, Nichelle Gould, Susan Gould-Watkins and Jonique Gould, 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Douglas Clark (Kathy), Felton Gould (Diane), William Gould (Brenda), Oscar Gould (Joyce); sisters, Sharon Goodwin, Linda Bard Taylor and Clara Palmer and Dawn Many Feathers (Len). His closest friends, Leroy Hickman, Steve Thomas, Michael Hughes, Ty Neal, Kathleen Bennett (Gould) and a host of other family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Felton and Clara Douglas Gould, his maternal grandmother, Isabell Susan Gould, his sisters, Mariana Caesar and Roberta Cole, and his grandson, Kevin Gould. A private visitation was held for family members and memorial services will be held at a future date at the discretion of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME.
