Obituary of Dorothy "Dot" L. Welden

Dorothy L. Welden, 84, of Dividing Creek passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at her home. Born in Germantown, PA to the late Emmett Weldon and Dorothy Berg, she was the wife of the late Thomas A. Welden, Sr. She had been a resident of Dividing Creek for most of her life. Dorothy was a dedicated homemaker tirelessly caring for her family. She was a member of Dividing Creek United Methodist Church but had been attending Dividing Creek Baptist Church most recently. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Dorothy was known as the town crier and enjoyed telling everyone the latest Dividing Creek breaking news. She was also known for her cooking, especially muskrats that her sons and her late husband had trapped. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family. She is survived by; three sons, Thomas A. Welden, Jr. of Dividing Creek, Teddy E. Welden of Dividing Creek and Michael J. Welden of Millville; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; her husband, Thomas A. Welden, Sr.; her daughter, Lynda L. Welden and her sister, Joy Soutter. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 2 PM. Visitations will be held at the funeral home on Friday evening, October 30th from 6 PM to 8 PM and on Saturday afternoon October 31st from 1:30 PM to 2 PM prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made in Dorothy's memory to Zion Methodist Church, 959 Main Street, Dividing Creek, NJ 08315.
