Obituary of Beatrice D Slatter

Beatrice D. Slatter, 65, of Millville passed away on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. Born in Camden, DE to the late Dennis Slatter and Olla Bell Weems Slatter, she was the wife of Vernon Blackwell. Beatrice was a resident of Millville since 1999 and prior to that she had lived in Baltimore, MD. She had been previously employed as a direct patient caregiver in Baltimore, MD at “Our House” care center. Beatrice was a member of St. John's Pentecostal Church in Cedarville. In her free time, she enjoyed singing gospel music and watching her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Vernon Blackwell, she is survived by her children, Vernon Blackwell, Jr. of Bridgeton, Kyle Blackwell of Bridgeton and Jernelle Blackwell of Bridgeton; two step-children, Veronica Blackwell of Egg Harbor Twp. and Damien Mears of Glassboro; three sisters, Marvaia Berrios of Millville, Sabrina Coleman of FL and Angela Coleman of Millville and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, October 10th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Due to current regulations associated with the Covid-19 healthcare situation, we are limited to 50 people within the funeral home at a time and the understanding and cooperation of the public is greatly appreciated.
