Obituary of Hubert D. Houchins

Hubert “Danny” Houchins, 73, of Woodstown passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Cooper Medical Center in Camden. The son of the late Hubert L. Houchins and Ann Humphery Houchins, he was born in Beckley, West Virginia and had lived in Woodstown for the past seven years. Prior to that, he had resided in Bridgeton and Newport, Tennessee. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and served his country in the United States Army. Before his retirement, Danny had served as a Police Officer with both the City of Bridgeton Police Department and the former Fairfield Township Police Department. He had also worked as a truck driver for a period of time. He is survived by his five children, Stephanie Houchins of TN, Kelli Lynn Houchins-Bowser of TN, Cassie Griffith of Pittman, Kristen Jenkins of Pilesgrove and Kaitlyn Mooneyham of Maple Shade; two brothers, Larry Houchins of CA and Jeff Houchins of NC; a sister, Linda Holt of Upper Deerfield Township, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Thursday, September 24th at 3:30 PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 to 3:30 PM prior to the services. Graveside services will take place on Saturday, September 26th at Keaton Cemetery in Greenville, West Virginia where the interment will follow the services.
