Obituary of James C. Peery

James C. Peery, 90, of Stow Creek Twp. passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at his home. Born in the mountains of Taswell County, Virginia to the late Marshall and Barbara Peery, he was the husband of Paula Seren Peery. He had been a resident of Stow Creek Twp. and Staten Island, NY for the past 30 years. He had also resided in Portsmith, VA. At age 18, James went to work on the tugboats in Staten Island, NY. Prior to retirement, James had worked as a Port Engineer for Moran Towing in Connecticut. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. In his free time, James enjoyed working on classic cars and Corvettes and spending time with his family. He was also a member of the Fraternal order of Free Masons. He is survived by; his wife, Paula Peery of Stow Creek Twp.; his daughter, Lauren Brattlie and her husband, Kenneth of Deerfield Twp.; six grandchildren, Christina, Kristopher, Jaime, Brendan, Jake and Berit and three great-grandchildren, Tyr, Jace and Torlief. He was preceded in death by; a son, Wayne Peery and a brother, William Peery. Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
