Obituary of Shirley R. Watson

Shirley R. Watson, 83, of Upper Deerfield Twp. passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. Born in Bridgeton to the late George Rauner and Dorothy White Rauner, she was the wife of the late Curtis N. Watson, Jr. She had been a resident of Upper Deefield Twp. for 56 years and prior to that she had resided in Fairfield Twp. Before retirement she had been employed as a teacher's aide at Cumberland Regional High School. She had also been employed previously at the Armstrong Co. and Kerr Glass Co. in Millville. Shirley had been an Avon cosmetics distributor for about 10 years. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, swimming and playing cards. She was also an avid traveler with senior groups. Surviving are her two daughters, Venus W. Lawrence of Hopewell Twp. and Judy L. Calloway of Upper Deerfield Twp.; four siblings, Gloria Watson of PA, Sue Zorn of Vineland, Anthony Rauner of FL and Sandra Acevado of Upper Deerfield Twp., 5 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha J. Orange; five siblings, Irene Williams, Joe Rauner, George Rauner, Nancy Benson and Viola Bonualas; two granddaughters, Stephanie Calloway and Macee Miletta; her great-grandson, Corey Calloway and her son-in-law, Freddie Calloway. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday, September 3rd at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
