Anthony P. Colaneri, 77, of Pittsgrove, passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at his home. He had been in failing health for the past 6 months. He husband of Faye Connatser Colaneri, he was born in Fairfield Township and was the son of the late Nicholas and Anna DeNofio Colaneri. He had resided in Pittsgrove for the past 4 years and prior to that had been a resident of Bridgeton. Retired for the past 12 years, Anthony had been employed with Durand Glass Co in Millville as a mold polisher for 14 years and prior to that with the former Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton for 21 years in the re-pack department. He had also worked part-time at Eatmore Markets. He was a member of the Glass Blowers Union and was a lifetime member of Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. # 733 of Deerfield Township, where he had served two terms as Exalted Ruler and was also a Trustee and Treasurer. Anthony was proactive in collecting donations for children with disabilities. He sold tickets for numerous community functions for various fund raisers supporting the Elks. He had received the Officer of the Year award for dedication and meritorious service to the Elks Lodge for unselfish commitment and enthusiasm while fulfilling the responsibilities as an officer in an exemplary manor. He attended the First Wesleyan Church in Upper Deerfield Township and in his youth he had attended Immaculate Conception Church in Bridgeton. He loved gardening, especially growing tomatoes. He was an avid NASCAR fan. Besides his wife: survivors include: one daughter, Sherrie R. Day and her husband Michael, Upper Deerfield Township; one son, Brian A. Colaneri and his wife Nancy, Pittsgrove; two grandchildren, Hillary Colaneri and Brian Colaneri Jr.; two step-grandchildren, Nick Kershak and Paul Kershak; one sister, Mary DeBellis and her husband George, Upper Deerfield Township and four brothers, Nicholas Colaneri and his wife Misako, San Diego, Cal., John Colaneri, Fairton, Michael Colaneri, Millville and Domonic Colaneri, Philadelphia, Pa. He was preceded in death by a sister, Philomena Colaneri and two brothers, Alphonzo Colaneri and Leonard Colaneri. Funeral services will be held in the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township, on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 12, at 4:00 O'clock. Interment will be private and will take place at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon between 2:00 and 4:00 O'clock.
