Obituary of Jack Raines

Jack Raines, 83, of Pittsgrove passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Washington Township. The husband of Phyllis A. Raines, he was born in Grassy Fork, Tennessee and was the son of the late Homer Raines and Fannie Ford Raines. He had been a Pittsgrove resident for the past five years and had lived in Hopewell and Upper Deerfield Townships prior to that. Before retiring, Jack had been employed with the Owens-Illinois Glass Company at the Bridgeton and Glassboro plants most of his working life. He was an avid sports fan including all of the Philadelphia sports teams and also enjoyed vegetable gardening. In addition to his wife, Phyllis, he is survived by his son, Jack R. Raines and his wife Tracy of Pittsgrove; two granddaughters, Jackalyn Raines and Brittany Womack, two great-granddaughters and a brother, James Raines of Upper Deerfield Township. He was predeceased by his son, Terry Lee Raines, a grandson, Jonathan Borgese and two brothers, Bobby Joe Raines and Doyle Raines. Private visitation and funeral services were held at the convenience of the family with interment at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township.
