Obituary of Silas Peterson

Silas Peterson, 73, of Bridgeton passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at his home under the care of his family and hospice. Born in Burke County, GA to the late Ned Peterson and Hattie Sharrod Peterson, he was the husband of Brenda Wallace Peterson. He had been a Bridgeton resident since 1962 and had lived in Shiloh prior to that. Before his retirement, he had been employed with the Walmart Department Stores in Pennsville and Millville. He had also worked at the M.C. Schrank Co. and the Murbeck Co. both in Bridgeton. Silas enjoyed his family, fishing and playing cards. He also liked watching Westerns, sports, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy on the television. In addition to his wife, Brenda, he is survived by three children; Tonya Peterson, Silas Peterson, Jr. (Jay'net) and Willie Frank Peterson (Elizabeth Dunkle); a sister, Rosa Peterson; four brothers, Willie Peterson, Willie Frank Peterson, James Peterson, Jr. and Ned Peterson, Sr.; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; two brothers, Tommie Lee Bennett and John Peterson and two sisters, Lillie Lee Peterson and Catherine Peterson. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Saturday, August 8th at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 9 to 11 AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Township.
