Ernest McCoy, age 70, of Upper Deerfield Township died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at South Jersey Extended Care in Bridgeton following several years of declining health. The son of the late Cornelius L. McCoy and Annie Dixon McCoy he was born in Wadesboro, NC on September 20, 1942. He was the husband of Nellie Tucker McCoy and had resided in Upper Deerfield Township for 47 years and had lived in Cedarville prior to that. Before his retirement, Mr. McCoy had been employed in the construction trade with Union Local 199, Wilmington, DE. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Upper Deerfield Township. In addition to his wife Nellie, he is survived by a son, Ernest L. McCoy, Sr. of Upper Deerfield Township, two daughters, Christina Renee McCoy of Quinton Township and Victoria McCoy of NC, four brothers, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by four brothers. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church, 194 Northville Road, Upper Deerfield Township on Tuesday, October 2nd at 11 AM. A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services. Burial will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Township. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
