Obituary of Donald O. Gates

Donald O. Gates, Jr., age 55 of Millville died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at South Jersey Regional Medical Center. He had been in declining health for several years. The husband of Louise Sheff Gates, he was born in Vineland on June 6, 1957 and was the son of the late Donald O. Gates and Catherine Heritage Gates. He had lived in Millville for the past 25 years and Atlantic City prior to that. Donald had recently retired from working for the city of Atlantic City as a maintenance supervisor where he had been employed for over 29 years. He was an avid motorcyclist. In addition to his wife Louise, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa Gates of Cedarville; a son, Peter Knowacki of Somerville; a sister, Nancy Colon of Vineland; three brothers, Jeff Bell of Vineland, Dale Gates of Brooklyn, NY and Bobby Gates of Mays Landing along with 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Saturday morning, September 29th from 10 AM to 12 Noon. Cremation and inurnment will take place at Laurel Lawn Crematory in Upper Deerfield Township.
