Henry L. Walker, 84, of Bridgeton, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020 at his home.
Born in Hollywood, FL to the late Wilson Walker and Marie Pierce Walker, he was the husband of Eileen Snipes Walker. He had been a resident of the Bridgeton Area most of his life.
Henry had worked for the Tri-County Community Action Agency for 18 years as a personal assistant. Prior to that he had worked for Owens Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during peacetime. Henry was a member of Bethany Seventh Day Adventist church in Bridgeton where he was known to help maintain the grounds and serve as a handyman. In his free time, Henry enjoyed working in the yard and around his home. Henry's family described him as a man who was always in charge and gave all the orders. He answered to many names such as; Mr. Walker, Dave, Brother Walker, Mr. Walk and Uncle Dave.
He is survived by; his wife, Eileen Walker of Bridgeton; five children, Donna Manor of Fairfield Twp., Robbye Marie Walker of Bridgeton, Tanya Walker of Bridgeton, Henry Walker of Bridgeton and Christopher Walker of Bridgeton; three sisters, Thelma Coates of TX, Hattie Smith of TN and Mittie Pratt of Deptford; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; a daughter, Karen Walker and several brothers and sisters.
