Obituary of George D. Stocks, Sr.

George Stocks, Sr. 96, of Vineland formerly of Fortescue passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland. Born in Westville to the late George Katcher Stocks and Esther Stocks, he was the husband of the late Margaret Smith and the late Helen Campbell. George had been a resident of Washington Twp. from 1948 to 1970 when he moved to Fortescue. George is a veteran of the United States Marine Corp where he served during the second World War. Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a carpenter for Frank Burton and Sons in Bridgeton for over 25 years. George had been a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles-Bridgeton Airy and the Elks Lodges in both Bridgeton and Millville. George is survived by; his son, George “Dan” Stocks, Jr. of Washington Twp.; his daughter, Dale Clement of Little Egg Harbor; three grandchildren, George “Dan” Stocks III of Franklinville, AJ Clement of FL, Kelly Crosley of Hammonton and Brandon Clement; five great-grandchildren, Ryker, Nolan, Tyler, Crissy and Evelyn and a great-great-grandson. Besides his wife, Helen Campbell Stocks, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Scott. Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
